Mount Green Housing Association has appointed a new local repairs contractor to improve the delivery of day-to-day repairs, maintenance, and voids.
Chigwell Construction, part of the Chigwell Group, will be supporting the 1,700-home social landlord and its residents till at least April 2022.
The specialist contractor is regarded as one of the south-east of England’s leading companies for delivering repairs and maintenance services for housing associations and local authorities.
The interim appointment of Chigwell is part of Mount Green’s ongoing work to change its approach to handling repairs, maintenance, and voids.
Last month the organisation, based in the south-east of England, announced it had doubled the size of its property and assets team, which would be overseen by a new director.
Alongside these changes, the team is working with Mount Green’s residents to redesign a brand-new repairs programme.
“A core focus for us and many housing providers across the sector is ensuring our customers are heard,” said Andrew Donaldson, director of Property and Assets at Mount Green (pictured).

“Whilst we work on meeting the expectations of the promises made in the past, it was important to us that we also made a number of changes to improve our current service offering.
“Chigwell is a known and established contractor across the south east [of England] and so we are delighted to be working with a reputable team that not only understands our business and the needs of our residents but will also benefit the local economy, too.”
Dean Floyd, chair of Chigwell Group, said: “Throughout the pandemic we have continued to deliver on time, within budget, and to a standard that exceeds our customers’ expectations.
“It is one of the main factors for our success in winning major tenders like Mount Green, and so we’re delighted that even through these challenging times that our ‘Right First Time’ approach is continuing to cement our company’s continual growth.”
Established in 1962, Mount Green is an independent housing association with homes across Surrey and Sussex.
