Beyond Housing has commenced the development of 45 new homes in the village of Scalby, which lies 2.5 miles to the north of Scarborough.
The new homes will form part of a 151-home scheme at High Mill, Scalby, which is being developed in partnership with Keepmoat Homes (Yorkshire East).
Upon completion, Beyond Housing will make 32 homes available for affordable rent, with the remaining 13 allocated for shared ownership.
Beyond Housing’s 2017 contract with Taylor Wimpey – at an earlier stage of the Scalby development – delivered a total of 59 new homes for affordable rent and shared ownership, with a high level of demand for all properties.
Work started on site in September, with estimated completions running from April 2022 through to September 2024.
Karen Howard, Beyond Housing’s Development manager, said: “We are very excited to be working alongside Keepmoat Homes on the second phase of this prestigious and extremely popular development in Scalby.
“The delivery of another 45 high-quality homes in this delightful rural setting will once again underline our ambitious strategic aim to provide 2,000 new homes, which people will very much want to live in, by 2025.”
Keepmoat Homes’s regional managing director, Dan Crew, said: “We’re delighted to be working in partnership with Beyond Homes to deliver 45 new homes for affordable rent and shared ownership as part of our wider scheme in Scalby.”
Beyond Housing is one of the largest registered housing providers in the North East and North Yorkshire.
With its regional offices in Redcar and Scarborough, the organisation is responsible for the letting, management, and maintenance of over 15,000 homes across the north east and North Yorkshire.
