Connect Housing appoints new Director of Finance and Resources

Guy Millichamp

Connect Housing has announced the appointment of Guy Millichamp as director of Finance and Resources.

Coming from Yorkshire Housing, where he had been director of Finance since 2015, Millichamp takes over from Sean Flynn, who is retiring after almost 20 years in the role.

A Chartered Accountant, Millichamp will be responsible for financial services, business assurance, and information services at the Leeds-based housing association.

Connect is currently delivering its transformation programme, which includes the launch of a new brand and corporate strategy and a major IT implementation project.

“There is a lot of change happening right now at Connect, and I am most looking forward to helping drive forward the business transformation programme,” Millichamp said.

“I am particularly impressed by Connect’s belief in the strength of partnership working, and its values, which are focused on doing the right thing.”

Guy has always worked within the not-for-profit sector. After training as an auditor, and a spell working abroad, he started his career with Oxfam and York St John University, before making the move into housing at English Churches Housing in 1997.

He joined Yorkshire Housing in 2006 when, as director of Finance at Brunel Housing, the Bradford-based housing association became part of the Yorkshire Housing group.

Guy is also a board member at Rochdale Boroughwide Housing, a position he has held since 2017.

In welcoming Guy to Connect, chief executive Helen Lennon said: “It is great to have Guy on board. He brings a wealth of experience and is a valuable addition to our leadership team at an exciting time of change.

“The whole team at Connect would also like to wish Sean a really happy retirement and thank him for everything he has done to make Connect the organisation it is today.

“He will definitely be missed.”
