Beyond Housing has expanded its portfolio after completing the handover of five new homes on a development near Darlington.
The five bungalows, which were marketed for sale on a shared ownership basis, have already been snapped up by eager buyers, according to the Redcar-based housing provider.
The Coniscliffe Grange development, comprising 37 new homes by Robertson Homes, has a riverside location in a “much sought-after” rural setting.
Beyond’s £975,000 contract with Robertson Homes will see the delivery of a further two bungalows on the site, which are scheduled to be made available for affordable rent in March 2022.
An additional grant funding investment of £273,000 was provided by Homes England, a non-departmental public body that funds new affordable housing across the country.
Kelly Lemon, Beyond Housing’s senior project manager, said: “We are delighted with this opportunity to work in partnership with Robertson Homes on this exciting rural development.
“It’s clear from the speed at which these top quality homes were purchased that the shared ownership option is providing a highly popular route onto the housing ladder for increasing numbers of people.
“The scheme is another illustration of our commitment to our ambitious objective of providing 2,000 new homes by 2025.”
Beyond Housing is one of the largest registered housing providers in the North East and North Yorkshire, responsible for the letting, management, and maintenance of more than 15,000 homes across the region.
