Housebuilder Cala Homes has appointed Sarah Pasco as the new managing director of its Thames division.
The Cala Thames region has grown “rapidly” in recent years, and Sarah will be responsible for “ensuring the business continues to evolve to support that growth and maintain its footing” in the south of England.
Cala says Sarah will focus on enhancing the organisation’s investment in people, product, and customer experience.
Sarah will oversee Cala Thames as it progresses 13 current developments and a pipeline of future sites, which are projected to provide 2,206 new homes by 2025.
Cala says land acquisition will continue to be a key priority, with a particular focus on Hampshire, Wiltshire, West Surrey, Berkshire, and Dorset, where Cala is seeking to expand its presence.
Promoting women in construction
Commenting on her appointment, Sarah said: “It’s a great time to be taking the lead of the Cala Thames business as we cement ourselves in the south of England.
“I’m aware of the challenges that lie ahead, and I’m confident we’re well placed to face them.
“My focus is on continuing the momentum in the region and developing the brilliant people around me who are so crucial to delivering success.
“Cala Thames is already in a strong position with over 150 people, has delivered 1,384 new homes in the last three years, and is now a £250m plus turnover business.
“We’ve got key developments coming in 2023 – Cala at Finchampstead and Treetops due to launch as early as March- and we’re committed to working closely with landowners and communities throughout the region to deliver attractive and sustainable homes and developments.”
She added: “Another area I’m passionate about is promoting women within the construction industry.
“We build homes, lifestyles, and futures in construction and there are lots of career opportunities available for young people looking to get started in a really exciting and varied industry.”
Sarah Pasco joins Cala Thames from housebuilder Taylor Wimpey, where she worked for 12 years, six as managing director for the Southern Counties region.
With extensive industry experience spanning almost 40 years, Sarah has held numerous roles in the UK and abroad within the residential property sector.
Previous Thames MD, Andrew Wagstaff, has taken up the regional chair role for Cala’s five English businesses, having been managing director for Cala Thames since 2019.
He now oversees the Thames, Chiltern, South Home Counties, North Home Counties, and Cotswolds regions.
The Thames region is one of eight businesses within the Cala Group, which now employs more than 1,300 people UK-wide.
