The social housing sector is built on more than just bricks and mortar; it is sustained by the dedication of individuals and the impact of community-driven projects. With that spirit in mind, Aico has announced that its prestigious Community Awards are back for another year.
Professionals across the UK have until Friday, 20th February, to submit their entries and ensure their hard work receives the national recognition it deserves.
A night of celebration in Birmingham
On Thursday, 16th April 2026, the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Birmingham will transform into a hub of celebration. Hosted by Carl Jones, the ceremony will welcome over 400 guests, including industry leaders, finalists, and special guests, for an evening dedicated to the unsung heroes of social housing and local communities.
Beyond the trophies, the night promises a high-energy atmosphere featuring a gala dinner and live entertainment, providing a unique networking platform for those driving change in the sector.
This year, Aico is adding a fresh layer of excitement with the introduction of the People’s Choice Award.
Unlike the traditional categories judged by a panel, this award will be decided in real-time. Attendees at the ceremony will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite initiative on the night, making the audience an integral part of the honours.
While entries for Apprentice of the Year have now closed, there are still 13 diverse categories available for both individuals and groups. Whether you are highlighting a breakthrough in green energy or a colleague who consistently goes the extra mile, there is a category to fit:
| Individual Categories | Group & Project Categories |
| Rising Star Award | Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) |
| Inspirational Colleague of the Year | Neighbourhood Transformation |
| Woman in Fire Safety Award | Resident Engagement |
| Lifetime Achievement Award | Sustainability Project of the Year |
| Electrical Contractor of the Year | Collaborative Partnership |
| College Initiative / Best Distributor Initiative |
