West of Scotland Housing Association (WSHA) has appointed Kerry Clayton as its new director of corporate services.
Clayton will oversee corporate governance, with a remit encompassing governance and compliance, human resources and organisational development, IT and digital transformation, and risk management.
The housing association says Clayton was the “standout choice” from an “exceptionally strong shortlist” of candidates for the role, bringing with her over two decades of experience in Scotland’s social housing sector.
Most recently, she served as chief executive of TIS (Tenants Information Service), and in her early career Clayton specialised in housing management before pivoting to focus on corporate governance.
She enjoyed over five years as part of the corporate team at Elderpark Housing Association, including three as governance and compliance manager.
Recognised as a strategic and engaged leader in the sector, Clayton also currently serves as chair of the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) Scotland and is an active member of Women in Social Housing (WISH) Scotland.
“I am thrilled to be joining West of Scotland Housing Association as the new director of corporate services,” she said. “As a high performing, forward-thinking and innovative organisation, this is a very exciting opportunity for me and the perfect next step in my career.
“I look forward to applying my knowledge and skills to the role to support delivery of the strategic objectives and growth in my key areas of responsibility, whilst working closely and collaboratively with my new colleagues to deliver excellent outcomes for tenants and the local neighbourhoods.”
Simon Fitzpatrick, WSHA’s chief executive, added: “We are delighted that Kerry has agreed to join us after a rigorous recruitment process that saw an exceptional field of high quality candidates. She will bring expertise, experience, insight, and enthusiasm to West of Scotland Housing Association, and I look forward to working closely with her over the coming months and years.”
Clayton will take up the position in spring 2026, replacing Jennifer Cairns who is moving on to become chief executive of Govanhill Housing Association.
