Eastlight Community Homes has delivered its 2,000th new home since forming in 2020, marking six years of development activity across the East of England.
The housing association marked the milestone at its Rectory Fields development in Rivenhall, Witham, Essex, where residents, colleagues and partners gathered to mark the occasion. More than 200 homes on the scheme are being delivered in partnership with Bellway Homes, with Calfordseaden acting as employer’s agent.
Dan Jones, acting chief executive at Eastlight Community Homes, said: “While delivering 2,000 homes is an important achievement, this is ultimately about people. It represents 2,000 households that now have a safe, warm and affordable place to call home and reflects the dedication of colleagues, partners and communities who have helped make that possible.
“At a time when housing need continues to outstrip supply, every new home matters. Each one provides an opportunity for greater stability, wellbeing and belonging, while helping us create thriving communities across the East of England.”
Eastlight delivered 341 new homes during 2025/26, exceeding its annual target of 306, and has a pipeline of around 300 further social rent, affordable rent and shared ownership homes planned for the current financial year.
Mathieu Kohl, commercial director at Bellway Essex, said: “We feel honoured that Eastlight Community Homes has reached the milestone of its 2,000th home handover at our Rectory Fields development in Witham.
“These homes offer life-changing opportunities for people who can’t afford to buy a home of their own. Our partnership with Eastlight has enabled people to live in a high-quality energy-efficient home that meets their needs. There is a real sense of belonging, which we are proud to have played a role in creating.”
