Golding Homes has completed the handover of its 100th new home since the start of this financial year.
The Maidstone-based housing association has in total completed 103 new homes for affordable rent for over 300 local people during the last three-and-a-half months.
Part of the new development at Hermitage Park, Maidstone, the 100th home to be handed over is one of seven flats delivered by Golding in partnership with developer Croudace and employer’s agent calfordseaden.
Tom Casey, director of Development and Sales at Golding Homes, said: “We’re delighted to have reached this 100th homes milestone at this early point in the year.
“We’re really pleased to be helping customers into their new homes and making a positive difference for them and their families.
“This is a major step forward towards completing over 300 quality, sustainable new homes this year.”
Resident testimony
Customers Regina and Andrius have recently moved into the new homes to be closer to family.
The challenges of the recent pandemic and months of lockdown has been difficult for Regina’s physical and mental wellbeing.

She said: “My niece has been my lifeline. I couldn’t have got through this time without her, but I also know it’s been hard for her to keep being there for me while trying to get on with her own life.
“Getting this new home in Maidstone, so close by to her, is a blessing. It’ll make such a difference to my life.
“I love having outside space, and I’m looking forward to the lovely fresh air as I enjoy yoga sessions in my little garden that’s just perfect.”
Andrius is also closer to family in his new home, after finding himself homeless and ‘sofa surfing’, until he secured a room in a hostel where he felt the loss of his independence.
Andrius said: “This new home is like a dream come true, a massive leap for me.
“I’ve been studying hard over the past few months for a qualification in building safety and will hopefully be taking up an apprenticeship working alongside my brother-in-law in the building sector.
“My new home is a new beginning. I moved in around my birthday, and it’s the best birthday present ever.”
