Last week, Golding Homes completed its 100th new home sale for 2020/21 when Olivia and Michele moved into their new shared ownership home in Hermitage Park in Maidstone.
Olivia, a Resuscitation coordinator at the Princess Royal Hospital, shared what their new home means to them both.
She said: “Pulling up to the house on the first day was one of those pinch me, is this really happening? moments. We are absolutely delighted to be in our new home.
“It still doesn’t quite feel like it is ours, we both feel like we are house-sitting for someone that has gone on holiday, and we will have to give it back at some point!
“But it really is our house, and we are very excited to make it a home and share some memories in it.
“The team at Golding Homes were really friendly and helpful. They were there on the doorstep ready to greet and welcome us and run through the house-demo, and for that we are really grateful.
“Our welcome box and flowers were a really lovely personal touch and came in very handy. What an amazing opportunity we have been given to have a place to call our own and hopefully raise a family in.”
Over the past 12 months, Golding Homes has delivered over 200 new homes in Kent, meaning 845 people have been able to move into a brand-new home.
Golding Homes Tom Casey, director of Development and Sales, explains: “It has been a challenging twelve months for the construction industry.
“I am so proud we have found COVID-safe solutions to ensure we can continue to deliver these much-needed new homes in Kent for customers like Olivia.
“We are very grateful to our range of construction partners for their continued hard work.”
The new homes are in a variety of developments across Maidstone, Ashford, Medway, and Swale. They include 152 for affordable rent, 44 for sale through a shared ownership, scheme and 31 for market rent.
Casey said: “As a local landlord, we understand that the pandemic has left many of our customers and partners struggling.
“We are really pleased to have delivered some fantastic new homes and supported the local economy through our investment programme.”
