Sharon Brown has been promoted to the role of Great Places’ new director of Assurance, tasked with overseeing its Business Assurance, Governance, and Health and Safety teams.
Sharon has worked for Great Places for almost 19 years, starting as a resident involvement officer and rising through the ranks to become head of Business Assurance.
Her current role came about following recognition that, in an increasingly regulated environment, Great Places would benefit from effective assurance that the business is robustly managing risk and meeting its legal obligations.
Sharon has played a pivotal role in several key projects over the past few years including GDPR work, the company’s business continuity work in response to the COVID-19 and, more recently, preparations for the upcoming In-Depth Assessment by the Housing Regulator.
Commenting on her appointment, Sharon said: “I’m really excited about taking on the new challenge of becoming the director of Assurance in April and pulling together my new team, including the recruitment of two new heads of service.
“I think it’s really important that this new department meets both the needs of the business and the practical requirements of other teams, so am looking forward to speaking to lots of colleagues over the coming weeks to develop a list of priorities.”
Sharon starts her new role in April.
