Home Group has appointed Chris Hopkins as chief financial officer, filling the vacancy left when Helen Meehan moved up to chief executive earlier this month.
Hopkins takes up the role with immediate effect. He had been director of finance at the North-East headquartered housing association since April 2024, having joined the organisation in 2018 as head of development finance, before moving to director of FP&A in 2022. He previously worked at PwC.
Hopkins succeeds Meehan, who became chief executive following the retirement of Mark Henderson after 18 years in the role.
Meehan said: “I’m delighted that Chris is stepping up into the CFO role. His skills and experiences will be vital as we look to set our new strategy and navigate a changing external environment.
“Chris brings a deep understanding of Home Group and the sector to the role and will help build upon our existing strong financial position to ensure we can continue to deliver even more for our customers.”
Hopkins said: “I’m really pleased to be taking up this role at Home Group and to continue the work we’ve been doing to put the organisation in a strong financial position, ensuring that we can deliver positive outcomes for our customers and their communities.
“I’m looking forward to supporting Helen in her new role as CEO as we develop our future strategy and respond to an evolving operating environment.”
