The annual conference will also look atwhat challenges the sector faces in providing appropriate accommodation for the increasingly diverse needs of older people.
In February 2021, the APPG on housing and care for older people reported on its inquiry into housing and dementia.
Lord Best will be making a keynote speech on the recommendations from that inquiry, and will ask whether the housing offer has progressed in supporting people living with dementia in recent years, as well as debating what changes are needed.
Professor Karen West will also challenge how society thinks about its ageing population and how it is responding to the increasing diversity within that section of society.
The conference will then focus on three aspects of diversity, challenging the status quo and exploring changes which are needed.
Housing 21 says the day will focus on of provocations rather than presentations, and that it will be encouraging delegates to take part in table discussions after hearing from panellists.
