Local job seekers are being urged to join a free virtual event hosted by Incommunities in order to help them into employment.
On 9 December, from 10.30am-3.30pm, Incommunities’ Employment Hub team will host its first ever online open day, putting advisors in touch with people hit by the lockdowns and eager to get back into work.
The team of advisors will be on hand to help attendees get ‘job ready’ for local vacancies, providing one-to-one support for things such as writing effective CVs, interviewing, internet job searching.
The team will give advice on developing the right skills and qualifications to get back into work, including joining the ‘hubs’ for free online maths and English courses.
Nicki Woods, Incommunities’ Contract manager for the new Employment Hub, said: “The lockdowns have hit many people’s livelihoods, and my team are keen to help job seekers across the district have a positive new year.
“This virtual open day also aims to breakdown any barriers people may face in getting back into work and offer them the right support to improve their lives.
“We have already helped 25 people affected by the lockdown, and we’re here to help you.”
The Employment Hub is part funded by the European Social Fund and is supported by Bradford Council and Leeds City Region partners.
