Living Space Housing has expanded the team with the appointment of Keith Harris as a contracts manager.
Harris will help the Solihull-based provider oversee three live developments in Shropshire and Oxfordshire.
The affordable housing specialist launched to the market in 2019 and is currently constructing seven residential developments across middle England, with a number of additional sites in the planning system.
The young business is on track to deliver a turnover in excess of £20m in its second year of physical trading.
Harris joins Living Space from Wates Construction North West, where he was a construction manager for various residential projects, as well as having pre-construction responsibilities.
Prior to that, he was a contracts manager for Kier Living’s central region, where he oversaw the delivery of both open market and affordable homes and achieved an NHBC Safety Award, an LABC Quality Award, and a Considerate Constructors Scheme Award.
Prior to that, he was a contracts manager for Seddon Construction for 12 years.
Harris is experienced in managing colleagues and contractors, while working as part of a senior leadership team. He is skilled in health and safety training and has extensive knowledge of working alongside the NHBC.
Commenting on Harris’s appointment, Steve Davies, managing director of Living Space Housing, said: “Keith has been brought on board to oversee two of our live developments in Telford for The Wrekin Housing Group and our green energy heat source project in Oxfordshire for our new client Paradigm.
“He will manage the key supply chain relationships and be an integral part of our management communication channel.
“As an experienced contracts manager, Keith will implement our wide-ranging quality standards, troubleshoot where required, and ensure our build programmes are kept on track.”
Harris’s live projects comprise 38 homes located off Park Road in Telford’s Malinslee ward and 39 homes on former Homes England land at Majestic Way in the village of Aqueduct, both of which are being delivered for The Wrekin Housing Group for affordable rent.
The other development he will oversee is the construction of 40 affordable homes featuring air source heat pumps on a site located off Oak Farm Drive in the traditional Oxfordshire village of Milcombe for housing provider Paradigm.
Commenting on his appointment, Harris said: “It is exciting to be joining a company that is growing at such a rapid pace, as there is plenty of scope for career development and to broaden my experience and skills base.
“I have worked with a number of my new colleagues previously, so it is really nice to be joining such a friendly and welcoming team.
“I am looking forward to getting stuck in and supporting the Site Managers to deliver quality affordable homes that we can all be proud of.”
