The nominations for the 2021 Northern Housing Awards are now offically open.
After a year out due to the COVID-19 crisis, the Northern Housing Awards is now back up and running and ready to celebrate the best and brightest the Northern housing sector has to offer.
The Awards will recognise all areas of the housing sector, with categories ranging from repairs and maintenance and tenant services to technological innovation and leadership.
However, this year there will be a special one-off award to highlight those housing associations that have stood strong amid the continued disruption and uncertainty posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The COVID Resilience award celebrates those housing providers that have put the safety of both tenants and staff above all else, while maintaining quality service and confident leadership.
Joe Broun, managing director of UKBE, said: “Like so many others in the events industry, COVID-19 has had a fundamental impact on our business.
“Thanks to the continued support of our partners and sponsors of the Northern Housing Awards, we have been able to pivot our business model and launch Housing Digital.
“I’d like to thank our partners and sponsors for their continued support, and I’d like to thank the sector for welcoming Housing Digital with such warmth.
“It’s the people who are the heart and soul of the Northern Powerhouse, and it’s the people who have kept the hope alive. Let’s celebrate that.”
Also commenting on the launch of the Awards, Housing Digital editor Liam Turner said: “No one could have foreseen the level of disruption that COVID-19 was going to cause, and although the Northern Housing Awards was forced to take a back seat for 2020, it’s come back stronger than ever for 2021.
“Uncertainty about the future still remains, but the outlook is brighter now than it has been for a long time.
“It’s only right that, as we emerge from the tumult, we recognise the Herculian efforts of everyone working within the sector and celebrate their achievements – from the apprentices to the execs.”
The deadline for entries is 26 February 2021, and the shortlist will be announced on 2 April 2021.
The Northern Housing Awards will take place on 13 May 2021 at The Point, Emirates Old Trafford, in Manchester.
