Housing association Ongo is continuing partnerships with four local sports clubs, giving tenants and customers free access to matches for the 2026-27 season.
The scheme covers Doncaster Rovers, Lincoln City and Scunthorpe United football clubs, as well as Scunthorpe Rugby Club. It follows a 2025-26 season in which almost 1,000 Ongo tenants and customers received free tickets and other experiences, including VIP days and stadium tours.
Ongo said the Matchday Moments initiative has also helped connect participants with its wider services, with dozens going on to engage with training, recruitment, counselling and mental health support since taking part.
Scunthorpe United was the first club to partner with Ongo. The package includes 50 tickets to every home league game, along with priority seating in the “Ongo zone.” Advertising included as part of the arrangement is also being used to promote Ongo’s wellbeing services to fans.
Kevin Hornsby, executive director of customer and communities at Ongo, said: “We’re incredibly proud of the partnerships we have with local clubs and the opportunities we’re able to provide to our tenants because of them.
“We recognise that for some people, the cost of attending a match means that it just isn’t possible, but by working with local clubs to offer free tickets, we’re able to remove that barrier and create matchday moments.”
Glyn Sparks, head of partnerships at Scunthorpe United Football Club, said: “Working closely with Ongo over the last few seasons has been fantastic to show what a great community we have.
“The tickets give local people the chance to watch their club and enjoy the experience, and the work between Scunthorpe United and Ongo grows more each year. We look forward to seeing where the partnership goes in the future.”
Ashleigh Graves, an Ongo tenant who attended a match with her two sons and sister, said: “The atmosphere of the whole game is one that we’ll never forget. I am so grateful to Ongo for these tickets. Paying for every game would be too much, so thank you again – you’ve made my little boy extremely happy.”
