Ongo is celebrating after making The Sunday Times’ ‘Best large companies to work for’ list for the eighth time.
The provider was ranked at number 49 in the quarter one ‘Best large companies to work for in the UK’, number seven in ‘Housing’s best associations to work for’, and number 22 in ‘Best companies to work for in Yorkshire and the Humber’.
Overall, Ongo was ranked 65 in the national league table the last time it took part; the provider will find out in November what its final placing is, once all results from the year are in.
- Stonewater recognised for ‘outstanding’ levels of employee engagement
- Riverside named most LGBT-friendly housing organisation
Best Companies operates a star system, awarding up to three stars for exceptional companies.
Ongo has been awarded one star, which means it is taking workplace engagement seriously, with results
signifying ‘very good’ levels of workplace engagement.
Over 290 staff members filled out the survey, rating Ongo on eight different factors of work: its manager, leadership team, the company, personal growth, its team, giving something back, a fair deal, and wellbeing.
Its score has improved from 678 in 2019 to 690.
Steve Hepworth, chief executive of Ongo, said: “For the first time, we are in the ‘Best large companies to work for’ and to be recognised alongside organisations such as Octopus Energy, Sofology, and Joules is brilliant.
“We’ve seen a lot of change across the organisation in the last couple of years, as well as working our way through a pandemic so it’s great to see such positive results for us.
“92% of colleagues that completed the survey believe they can make a valuable contribution to the success of Ongo, and I can certainly agree that everyone here makes a huge difference to our communities and those living in them.”
