Loma Wilson has been appointed as the new director of Communities at Radius Housing.
Loma joins Radius having more than 23 years experience in social housing management, and she will be responsible for the strategic and operational management of housing and community investment functions, which includes sheltered and general needs housing, community safety, tenant engagement, and community investment services.
Loma began her career in housing as graduate trainee with the Northern Ireland Housing Executive in 1997, and from there she moved into a number of roles within different departments.
In 2012, she became the Area Manager for South Down, with responsibility for the delivery of a comprehensive housing and homeless service.
Loma graduated with an MSc in Tourism Management and later completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Housing.
As director of Communities, Loma will oversee a team of 300 for Radius as they manage more than 13,000 properties across Northern Ireland.
Radius also provides care and support services for thousands of tenants, as well as constructing more than 400 new social and affordable homes each year.
Speaking on Loma’s appointment, Radius chief executive John McLean said: “We are delighted to have Loma joining our senior management team as our new director of Communities.
“With a career of more than 20 years in social housing, she brings a great deal of experience and a successful track record of delivery and leadership.
“Loma also brings energy and ideas on how we can bring more to our tenants and staff, so we look forward to seeing her deliver her ambitious plans for Radius.”
Loma added: “Radius is a leading light in the social housing sector, and I am excited by the challenges ahead for me and the team.
“What I see as the most important part of my work will be delivering the best outcomes for Radius tenantsm and achieving the very best standards.
“The Radius senior management team and wider staff are already working towards this, and I hope to bring fresh ideas and energy to this work.”
