The government has announced allocations for the Night Shelter Transformation Fund, which will see £9.88m used by a variety of organisations across England.
Among those receiving the most funding are Harbour Place Grimsby in Lincolnshire, the Caritas Diocese of Salford in Manchester, and All People All Places in Haringey.
The Night Shelter Transformation Fund is a three-year fund, designed to create “a diverse range of quality, dignified provisions” for people experiencing rough sleeping.
Through this fund, the Department for Levelling Up, Housing, and Communities (DLUHC) is aiming to help organisations achieve three main objectives: improve the quality of off-the-street accommodation, reduce the number of people sleeping rough or requiring emergency shelter, and make long-term transformations to the services provided by non-commissioned night-shelter providers.
