Sarah Roxby has stepped into the shoes of WDH’s Mick Walsh, who has retired as the organisation’s executive director of housing.
Roxby, who has over 30 years of experience in the housing sector, was formerly WDH’s services director for housing and health.
The appointment means that housing provider’s corporate management team is now evenly split between three women and three men, which WDH says will help to ensure representation of female leaders at the highest level.
“I am delighted to have been appointed as executive director for housing,” said Roxby, who has worked at the organisation for over 17 years. “I am passionate about WDH, our customers, our partners and our teams and I am looking forward to continuing to drive improvements in my new role as we work together to build confident communities.”
Roxby is described as being passionate about social housing and, in her time with WDH, is credited with having transformed its care and health services, and helped shape ‘Cash Wise, Debt and Social Investment’ support.
She has built strong relationships with key partners, while continuously putting housing and health on the agenda and earlier this year was a finalist in the national Women in Housing Awards.
Andy Wallhead, chief executive at WDH, said: “Sarah has already demonstrated during her time at WDH that she can lead high performing, award winning teams and can build strategic relationships that benefit our customers. I am confident that she will build on this to make WDH and our housing services even more successful.”
Roxby took up her new role on 1 October. Chris Gent, formerly the organisation’s corporate debt manager has taken on her former role.
Wallhead added: “Chris has built a hugely successful debt service at WDH, which has been recognised as exemplary across the sector, and established strong relationships with other partners which have brought benefits to both our customers and the business. I am sure that he will take the service from strength to strength.
“I would like to congratulate both Chris and Sarah on their new roles and I look forward to continuing to work with them.”
