Sunderland City Council has appointed construction company Tolent to build its first council housing development after receiving a £1.6m grant from Homes England.

The council homes will include 72 two-bedroom and 14 three-bedroom houses, five one-bedroom bungalows, and five three-bedroom disabled access bungalows.
