The Wrekin Housing Group has appointed a new executive director of Finance to its executive team.
Jon Lamb takes on the role following the retirement of Wrekin stalwart Francis Best, who was the organisation’s very first employee in 1999 following its initial stock transfer.
Lamb joins the executive team from within the organisation, where he has been group head of Finance for the last 12 years.
Group chief executive Wayne Gethings said: “It’s great to welcome Jon to the executive team.
“Jon has an intricate understanding of our organisation and has been instrumental in ensuring the long term financial strength of the organisation.
“His insight and expertise will be invaluable as we continue the delivery of our corporate strategy between now and 2025.”
Having completed a £600m corporate refinancing in 2019, Wrekin says it is well placed to continue making a difference to people’s lives through the delivery of housing and care services in Telford and Wrekin, Shropshire, and Staffordshire.
Wrekin’s plans include the delivery of more than 500 new homes each year while continuing to invest in existing homes to increase energy efficiency and keep families safe.
Wrekin also generates more than £55.9m in social value across the community and aim to keep customers are the the core of its operation.
Jon joins group chief executive Wayne Gethings, executive director of Business Solutions Jan Lycett, and executive director of Operational Services David Wells.
