We Are Digital has won a contract with Waltham Forest Council to provide a targeted group of residents with digital and financial inclusion training.
The community investment and digital skills training provider will deliver all sessions remotely on a one-to-one basis, supporting an initial 30 Waltham Forest Council tenants.
It is hoped that the digital skills training will help residents living in supported housing build confidence in using the internet to search for information, such as local events, job opportunities, and more.
Residents will also learn how to navigate their housing account online.
Further, financial capability training will help council tenants take control of their financial management. Residents will learn how to switch suppliers, navigate online banking, and negotiate bills, with the aim of leaving the course with increased confidence in using technology to enhance their income potential.
Jane Martin, divisional director of Housing Operations at Waltham Forest Council, said: “Providing digital skills to residents in supported housing is crucial in helping them cope with modern life, connect with their friends and families, and continue to live independent lives.
“We have found We Are Digital an effective way to reach our residents, especially in these challenging times.”
We Are Digital is a social impact business working with housing associations, local and central government, and corporates to deliver positive and practical solutions to the problem of social exclusion across the UK.
