A group of young people from across Wythenshawe recently got to spend time at Borwick Hall Outdoor Education Centre, in Lancashire.
The weekend was organised by the youth involvement team from Wythenshawe Community Housing Group (WCHG) and funded by WCHG and Manchester City Council‘s Youth and Play funding.
The group, which included local young people with SEND and complex needs, were supported by Youth workers from WCHG and 2 trainee Youth Forum volunteers, took part in a range of activities.

Bronwen Lewis-Brooke, Partnership lead for Youth at WCHG, said: “Everyone had a great time on the trip, which was free for all the young people who attended.
“There were lots of things for the young people to try while we were there, including climbing activities, team building exercises, as well as quizzes and competitions.
“There was also a day spent caving, which believe me isn’t for the faint hearted, but the young people loved it.
“The food at the centre was lovely and in the evenings we all sat around a big campfire. By the time Sunday came around many of the young people didn’t want to leave!”
The WCHG Youth Involvement team provides a broad range of safe and fun activities for children and young people in Wythenshawe.
They work closely with local providers to and create, maintain and expand local partnerships to deliver services that are inclusive, secure and safe, encouraging children and young people in Wythenshawe to maximise their full potential.
