Yorkshire Housing has just delivered its 1,500th new home since it pledged to build 8,000 homes by 2030.
The Leeds-based housing association hit the milestone at its Long Lee development in Keighley, despite challenges posed by the pandemic.
Working alongside Space Homes and Vistry, the £6m site consists of 61 homes, of which 21 are affordable, 32 are shared ownership, and eight are rent to buy.
Sian Grindley, director of Development at Yorkshire Housing, said: “We’re really pleased to hit this important milestone – it means we’re well on the way to delivering 8,000 new mixed-tenure homes across Yorkshire by 2030.
“Every new home we build is transforming communities, providing families with affordable, quality and safe housing, and creating jobs and training for local people.
“There’s an urgent need for more affordable housing in Yorkshire, and we’re really proud to be delivering thousands of new homes that give people a chance to have a place they’re proud to call home.”
The Long Lee development is made up of two- and three-bedroom homes available for affordable rent through Yorkshire Housing and shared ownership through Space Homes.
Properties at Long Lee also feature electric vehicle charging points, which Yorkshire Housing says makes them “future proofed”.
Yorkshire Housing owns and manage nearly 20,000 homes in total.
