Warrington-based housing provider Your Housing Group made additional funding support available to local communities during the October half term to help ensure no child went hungry.
Your Housing Group allocated an additional £5,000 to help community groups and enterprises provide support for children during half term, in addition to collating and sharing local information to ensure families could find extra help.
The provider also gave meals to families in its supported living schemes.
In Partington, Greater Manchester, the team helped make up food packs for 30 families and packed lunches to feed 65 children.
An extra 200 pieces of fruit were purchased to add to lunches as they had run out.
Fix 360, Your Housing Group’s in-house repairs and maintenance service, helped deliver the food packs.
Also in Partington, Your Housing Group provided financial support to local enterprises P&J Tastys, which fed more than 70 families; and Café 21, which received orders from more than 30 families.
In Liverpool, donations were made to the L6 centre and the Bridge Community Centre, which provided packed lunches to children every day.
Jacque Allen, chief operating officer at Your Housing Group, said: “It has been a very difficult time for many families, and with more tough times ahead.
“Marcus Rashford’s campaign has highlighted an issue that we know affects families in our communities, and we wanted to do all we could to help support them.
“There is some amazing work being done by local people and businesses to support the most vulnerable in their communities, because no matter what, no child should ever go hungry.”
