Galliford Try has been appointed by global development company Argent Related as the contractor for two mixed-use residential buildings at Tottenham Hale worth £85m.
The contracts mark the start of work on the seven-building regeneration scheme, at the heart of Tottenham Hale, which is part of a masterplan to deliver 1,030 homes, 15 retail spaces, co-working and office space, a cinema and a primary care health centre. Located next to Tottenham Hale underground station, the scheme will also comprise paved public space.
1 Ashley Road, launched last year as Argent Related’s first phase of the development, will provide 183 private sale apartments across two adjoining buildings of 12 and 18 storeys. The project will include retail units, commercial offices including fit-out, two large terraces with landscaping and communal areas including a triple-height reception area with landscaping.
2 Ashley Road will include 70 private sale and 28 shared ownership properties across two adjoining buildings of 14 and five storeys, with ground floor retail units, communal areas and landscaping. The buildings are expected to achieve a BREEAM rating of “Very Good”.
Bill Hocking, chief executive of Galliford Try, said: “We are delighted to have been selected by Argent Related, working together to safely deliver much-needed new homes and commercial developments to stimulate and support the economy, during these challenging times.”
Galliford Try also recently announced that its Building division has been awarded a contract to deliver £28.6m of works on phase two of the Heart of the City development in Sheffield, providing a commercial, leisure, retail and residential focal point in the city centre on behalf of Sheffield City Council.
Works involve the demolition and construction of two buildings to deliver eight premium retail units, office space and 52 urban apartments in one block, and a further block featuring premium Grade A office space and six premium retail units.
