The PropTech Peer Group (PPG) has made its first appointment, taking on Elaine Middleton in the role of strategic associate, to support its continued growth.
It’s a significant step in the evolution of the group, which works with tech SMEs and start-ups to provide peer support, nurture collaboration, and help social housing providers explore new solutions to business challenges.
Founded by Stewart Davison, managing director of Elehan Consulting, around two and half years ago, the group has demonstrated significant growth and influence, underpinning Middleton’s appointment.
“When we launched the PPG in late 2023, the idea that competing tech companies would openly collaborate in social housing was a curiosity,” Davison said. “Two and a half years on, we’ve got over 30 companies doing exactly that, and the community has reached a point where it needs dedicated strategic capacity.
“Elaine understands membership communities at a level that’s hard to find, and her appointment is about making sure we grow this properly as we build toward 40 members, without losing what made it worth joining in the first place.”
Middleton has over 19 years of experience in the housing sector, and has held senior roles in both housing associations and in leading partners to the sector. She is currently a board member at Livin Housing.
Previous roles have included strategic account director at Mobysoft, and before that she was director of customer operations at Housemark. More recently, she has been involved with The Social Housing Round Table. She has also served as a stage host for the Housing Innovation Show.
“I’m delighted to be joining the PropTech Peer Group team at a really exciting time,” Middleton said. “As strategic associate, I’m here to support and champion the success of our members, a growing community of business leaders who are truly harnessing the power of technology to lead innovation in the social housing sector.
“I’m also looking forward to strengthening the PPG’s relationships with housing providers, because the best outcomes happen when innovative tech companies and forward-thinking housing organisations are genuinely talking to each other. It’s a real privilege to work with a community that values shared insight, mutual support, and collective growth.”
