Essex-based housing association CHP and its subsidiary Myriad Housing have successfully purchased land with outline planning consent for 35 houses.
Once complete, the Tye Green site, on Braintree Road, Cressing, will provide a mix of homes for affordable rent, shared ownership, and outright sale. CHP says it hopes the first homes will be ready by “late 2025”.
The project marks the first time that the Chelmsford-based housing association has partnered with Chartway Group. The company will work on the detailed design and delivery of the scheme.
Fiona Hollingsworth, growth and partnerships director at CHP, said: “The purchase of this land is another significant step for CHP in helping us to provide more affordable homes for local people. It’s important for us to build decent homes that people want to live in, and are looking forward to working with Chartway Group for the first time to achieve this”.
Oliver Jolley, Chartway’s land and new business director, added: “We are delighted to embark on our first partnership project with CHP and Myriad Housing. The homes for Tye Green reflect our vision to deliver new sustainable homes for everyone across South East England and builds on our growing footprint in Essex.
“Our attention now moves to the planning process and submitting a reserved planning matters application as soon as possible”.
