Fife Housing Group has launched a new series of awards to celebrate community champions whose acts of kindness have made a difference to those around them during the COVID-19 crisis.
Through its COVID Community Champion Awards, the housing provider aims to celebrate local residents who have given up their own time to improve the lives of others as the pandemic rages on.
Fife’s director of Housing , Su Bramley, said: “We are acutely aware of how challenging this year has been for the people of Fife but, in these troubled times, we have also seen many examples of great care, compassion, and community spirit.
“We wanted to take a moment to celebrate the special people who, even when dealing with uncertainty and adversity themselves, have gone out of their way to brighten the lives of others.”
Fife has said its COVID Community Champions will receive a luxury food hamper in recognition of their efforts.
The group is also calling for people to nominate those in their community who they feel deserve recognition for their efforts to help others during the pandemic.
The closing date for entries is 12 noon on 30 November, and the winners will be announced on 14 December.
Fife Housing Group is one of the largest independent housing associations in the east of Scotland, with approximately 2,500 properties across Fife and an annual turnover of over £12m.
