Onward Homes has appointed former Lexington Communications director Rob Loughenbury as its new Director of Strategy.
In his new role at Onward Homes, Rob will support the north-west housing association with its plans to “build back better”, as a social landlord and as a builder of new homes through its Onward Living brand.
Rob joins Onward after seven years at property communications agency Lexington Communications, where he specialised in advising clients in relation to planning applications, land allocations, and national housing policy.
Clients included national and regional housebuilders, the Homes for the North coalition of developing housing associations, and the Housing the Powerhouse campaign group.
Rob has a PhD in community relations in northern towns.
“Positive difference in communities”
Commenting on his new role, Rob said: “Onward is ideally placed to make a defining contribution to our regional recovery, as a housing association playing an active civic role and as a home builder of scale and quality.
“My focus will be on developing our ability to work with current partners, and new ones, to support the full range of customer housing aspirations and make a positive difference in the communities we serve.”
Bronwen Rapley, chief executive of Onward Homes, said: “We are delighted to welcome Rob to Onward.
“His perspective, experience, and insight will help us to develop our strategy and strengthen our position as a leading housing association and builder of new homes in the North West.”
Onward Homes is one of the largest registered providers of social housing in the north-west region with 35,000 properties.
